4/2 Japanese Day
In the morning, we went to see a house for their son which will be sold via auction in next month. There are more people than I had expected.
It was a good experience to me. However, today's main event is not to see a house. I promised Michael and Joan to cook Japanese food and provide Japanese tea ceremony. So we dropped in at a big supermarket and Japanese supermarket to buy some ingredients. (Corned beaf was not what I wanted to buy but thin sliced beaf though, we couldn't find it.)
(I initially thought about making "Nikujaga", a Japanese cuisine known as "mother's flavor " in Japan, but I changed my mind to "OKONOMIYAKI" because we had similar dishes two days before.)
While I was taking a nap after we came home, Michael was looking for a lot of Japanese chopsticks and tea bowls. That's why he sweated a bit when I woke up.
About 5pm I started to cook OKONOMIYAKI. The most difficult thing was to slice the beaf into a very thin pieces but thanks to a Japanese Knife, which their son bought in Japan and Michael sharpened during my nap, it was successful.
After the dinner, I gave them a surprise, talking with my family on Skype! I planed this because I wanted to introduce each other. It was a good idea!!
The last program was a Japanese tea ceremony.
What a lovely Saturday I had❤
